2018 ‘Farming by Satellite’ Prize launches today

The ‘Farming by Satellite Prize’ is an initiative of the European GNSS Agency and the European Environment Agency, which aims at promoting the use of the European satellite systems EGNOS, Galileo and Copernicus in agriculture.

 

The competition has a top prize of 5000 EUR and is open to students and young people below 32 who have innovative answers to the question “How can we use satellite technologies to improve agriculture and reduce environmental impact?”.

 

Registration for the 4th edition of the Farming by Satellite Prize was officially opened today by Deputy Director General Pierre Delsaux, DG Grow, European Commission.

Registration should be completed by 30 June 2018 17:00 CET. Final submissions must be received by 7 September 2018 17:00 CET.
