Copernicus Land Monitoring Service

In the context of the evolution of the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service, the European Environment Agency (EEA) is preparing a major upgrade of the Corine Land Cover (CLC) product, the European LC/LU information basis.

Draft specifications of this major upgrade, referred to as CLC+, are available on the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service website.

These draft specifications have been submitted to internal consultations within the EEA and EIONET network, and then to a first public consultation through a workshop held in Brussels on 16 November 2017 in Brussels.

Public consultation is still ongoing and comments can be submitted in writing by email, up to the 8th of December.

Based on the comments received, the draft specifications will be updated and if deemed appropriate, the EEA will organise an additional round of consultation in the beginning of 2018.

Once the specification consolidated, the EEA will organise a call for tender, scheduled for spring 2018, to start the implementation of CLC+.
