JRC MARS Bulletin global outlook 2017

Agriculture Monitoring

The Joint Research Center of the European Commission (JRC) has just published its latest JRC MARS Crop monitoring bulletins for Europe and the European neighbourhood (part of the global outlook 2017 series covering North Africa and, for the first time, Turkey and Ukraine).

Available since the 27th of March 2017, the JRC MARS Crop monitoring in Europe Bulletin reports that the crop season has gotten off to a promising start in Europe, thanks to exceptionally mild temperatures in late February and early March. Winter crops are generally in good shape despite cold conditions in much of central and eastern Europe until mid-February.

The second bulletin, dealing with the European neighbourhood reports among other things, a predominantly positive outlook for North Africa and a lack of winter precipitation in Turkey.
