The European Earth monitoring programme Copernicus and the European Global Navigation Satellites Systems (EGNSS) are among the greatest technological achievements of the European Union whose impact will be felt globally.

As part of a broader initiative to foster the adoption of Copernicus and Galileo worldwide, the European Commission, together with the European External Action Service has organised two regional workshops on Space Applications in Santiago, Chile (7-8 Sept. 2017) and La Paz, Bolivia (11-12 Sept. 2017) respectively.

Both workshops were extremely well-attended and gave the opportunity to the members of the 'Space Team Europe' (European Commission Officials from Copernicus and Galileo, experts from Member States, ESA, EARSC, Galileo Services and European Companies experts) to meet their counterparts, to promote European initiatives on Space applications and to transmit information about opportunities for Latin American stakeholders to use Copernicus and Galileo for their own needs.
